Perhaps the most important sign that indicates that the End of the Age might be imminent can be found in Matthew 24:14:
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world
as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
This word in the NIV, “nations”, means people groups. So, it’s not just sufficient that all 200+ nations have heard the Gospel, but the thousands of people groups worldwide do as well.
A question I have always had with this verse is this: does this prophecy have to be fulfilled at a certain point in time for this Scripture to be fulfilled? Does each people group have to have a witness at the same exact time? Or if XYZ people group heard the Gospel in the 15th century, but Christianity can’t be found, does the Lord count them as having been reached? Something to think about.
Here is something else to get excited about. Our ministry has been involved in the past with a movement named, Call2All. I have been to one of their global conferences with some of our Asian partners, and they are planning another one for next summer in South Korea.
Here is some of what they shared in a recent email:
Researchers tell us that by 2018 the last people group on earth will have some measure of Gospel witness… By 2020 translation of the Bible into all living languages will be underway. Meaning over 7,000 languages will have some or all of the Scriptures…
If this is true and is underway, it is exciting to be living in such a time as this! Not only do we have the ability to discover and learn every language and people group on earth, but God is blessing mission organizations with the skills and resources to reach them all with His Word in our lifetime. That gives me hope in this seemingly hopeless world.
