Can I have two minutes of your time today? I know you’re busy. This is important.
We’ve all heard it before. Lots of people ask for “just two minutes of your time”, and before you know it, you’ve spent nearly an hour. Telephone surveys promise, “This will only take a couple of minutes”, and that is almost NEVER the case.
If you’re an average reader, you’ll be done with this post in less than two minutes.
What’s so important about two minutes? Last year, God allowed Feed the Hunger to produce 2,976,952 meals. That sounds like a lot of meals – and it is! People all over the country (and some in Canada) gave of their time and money so that just under three million meals could be used to bring glory to the name of Jesus.
Every single meal serves as an instrument to address physical hunger around the world. But it doesn’t stop there. Those meals are also used to address a much larger void in people’s lives – the need for a deeper relationship with our Savior!
Let’s get a better grip on what nearly three million meals looks like:
- 8,156 – Number of meals provided every single day for a year
- 339 – Number of meals provided every single hour of every day
- 5.6 – Number of meals provided every single minute of every hour
So, two minutes of your time means that 11 meals were provided to someone malnourished, food-insecure, or even starving.
Next time you’re in line at a drive-thru and it takes two minutes, instead of grumbling, just think that God provided another 11 meals.
A two-minute commercial break? Another 11 meals.
You break the world record and run a two-minute mile – Congratulations! – another 11 meals just headed out to feed those in need.
Don’t sit around wondering what God is doing in your life. Get involved in what He wants you to do, knowing that every two minutes He’s bringing life to people 11 meals at a time!
Feed the Hunger. It’s More Than A Meal!
