I would like to take a moment and introduce myself. I am Gurland Roberts and I have worked for Feed the Hunger for 15 years. I have had many different titles, but the job I have ALWAYS enjoyed the most is working one-on-one with the partners of the ministry.

I have made friends with our donors over the years, and they are truly priceless! Since I am responsible for logging checks we receive from donors and reading the prayer requests that come to us in the mail, I have had the pleasure of getting to know by phone, e-mail, or in person many brothers, sisters, and families in Christ.

In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul writes that Christians are of the same Spirit. Jesus sees us as one big family, helping each other carry out our calling in life! What a blessing to be able to draw from and learn from fellow believers! Getting to know those who support us in prayer, through finances, and in all aspects of Christian friendship is a blessing that is not to be taken for granted – it is from God.

One such blessing is Mr. W.B. Hillhouse. For fifteen years, Mr. Hillhouse would personally hand carry his love gift to the office at the first of each month. Outside of delivering his monthly gift, we had great fellowship time! Mr. Hillhouse passed away in June of this year and I still miss his love for God and care for others. I also miss his laughter and sense of humor. He taught me a lot and we shared stories of life and prayer with each other. His faithfulness to God, family, community, and country blessed me greatly. Getting to know him and his family has been so special! Love of the brethren is more precious than gold.

Each morning before any work starts, Feed the Hunger staff have a devotion and pray over the day for wisdom, as well as prayer needs. All prayer requests from our partners are taken seriously!

So thank you, for all you do. We pray that we will be a blessing in your life and all the brothers and sisters we serve, whether here in the States or in the far-away places to which God has sovereignly linked us.
