Altair Global Relocation in Plano, Texas, has become a great corporate partner of Feed the Hunger. They recently planned their company’s 4th annual Packathon to coincide with their quarterly business meeting for all the employees at their headquarters.
The excitement was high, as usual, and we were ready to set up on Wednesday evening. The only problem was that the food and packing supplies we had shipped ahead of time did not get delivered as scheduled. Not a good sign for a food packing event set to take place in about 15 hours!
Thankfully, one of our trusted shipping partners, Southeastern Freight, sees what we do as part of their company’s ministry as well. They were eager to do whatever it took to get us the supplies as soon as possible in order for us to get ready for the packing session on Thursday morning. They sent a driver out early enough the next morning to make sure our pallets would be on-site by 6:30 a.m. We hustled to set up the event and were ready on time.
We were particularly excited about this Packathon with Altair because God had worked out a new and interesting connection in the Dallas area. FtH had recently connected with Christian Community Action (CCA) in Dallas. CCA was looking for one more item to add to their summer backpack program to reach children living in poverty. The timing worked out for perfectly for Altair to help supply CCA with the necessary food packets to finish filling their bags of food. Now, families in Dallas struggling to put food on the table will enjoy our Chicken Pasta meals.
This whole event further reinforces the truth that when you walk by faith, you don’t always get to see the step-by-step plan. But know that the final destination is in the trustworthy hands of God!
